Udine

Next week I will be going to Udine to give a masterclass and play a recital at the Conservatory. I thank my dear friend Sandro Caldini for the invitation and look forward to working with his students.

I love Italy (who doesn’t?!) and am glad to be back.

I will play Telemann, Martinu, Musgrave and more in a recital.

Everyone in the area or from afar is warmly invited!

New Academic Year

The New Academic Year 2012-13 has arrived.

And with it my commute to Vienna. A full oboe class with advanced students and a few new, alongside a growing class at the Raanana Music Center.

As promised, I have been working over the summer on the long awaited oboe method book. It will still be a while before it is completed, but bit by bit you can expect some tips on the website. Look at the Instruction Page and find the guide for regulating the the oboe.

More to come soon!

Summer courses 2011

Hello everyone,

Summer is coming up and with it – summer activities. This summer will see me back at Apple-Hill in NH, USA. Together with the AH Quartet and other guest faculty, I shall coach and perform great chamber music and enjoy the beautiful nature surroundings.

Join us! http://www.applehill.org 15-25th of July.

August will bring me back to Tivat, Montenegro. Now Tivat has become a tradition – this will be the 6th year in a row. There we enjoy the adriatic sea, the good food and easy-going Montenegrians, while we teach ALL wind instruments and play octets, quintets and what-not.

So if you want something different – this is the place for you!

The Oboe is not a Mystery

Welcome to all oboists – of all creeds and beliefs.

The oboe is a wonderful instrument. It has a unique sound and it can be very expressive. Many listeners are fascinated by it.

But it can also be frustrating and can at times seem to be an unsolved riddle. To solve this riddle one must analyse the components of oboe playing in a systematic manner and with scientific methods, until a clear theoretical structure is reached and simple, useful tools are defined to implement that theory.

I invite you to join the quest!
